Cycling and mountain biking are popular activities on the Sunshine Coast
in spring, summer and fall. There is an active mountain-biking community that is busy
creating and maintaining mountain biking trails, many of which are
located just north of Sechelt in Halfmoon Bay. There are also trails
south of Sechelt in Roberts Creek and Gibsons, and east of Sechelt
near Porpoise Bay.
Sunshine Coast Super Map has generously provided their 2010 Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Loop Map. This booklet includes maps and descriptions of many of the mountain biking trails on the Lower Sunshine Coast. Please remember to maintain the beauty and health of these trails by practising low-impact cycling techniques.
Tour biking is also popular during sunny weather, but cyclists should
be aware that most roads on the Coast do not have wide shoulders and
do have lots of curves and hills.
