Gibsons
A short drive along the coastline from Langdale ferry terminal brings you to Lower Gibsons (also known as Gibsons Landing), best known to many as the home of the long-running television series "The Beachcombers". Iconic Molly's Reach is still in operation, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Down the street, you'll find interesting shops and galleries, selling locally produced art works and fine handicrafts, antiques, fish and chips, and gelato.
Walk out along the pier for a great view of the neighbourhood, and feast your eyes on the most amazing houseboat garden you're ever likely to see. Enjoy a stroll along the waterfront and back up to the street through a small park. On your way back towards Molly's, you'll see the Beachcomber's boat Persephone.
If you're feeling energetic, spend a few hours hiking the short, but steep, Soames Hill (known as "The Knob") for a spectacular view of Gibsons.
A few kilometers up the hill from Lower Gibsons lies Upper Gibsons, home to the Gibsons Heritage Theatre, several shopping malls, a movie theatre, and various restaurants, services and shops. This is a good spot to fill up on gas before your drive North.
