Sechelt and the surrounding areas host special events throughout the year, including the renowned Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts and the Sunshine Coast Arts Crawl. There are festivals of jazz music, chamber music and performing arts, to name a few. Local theatres host both local and visiting dancers and plays, and galleries show the work of local and visiting artists and crafts people. In the summer, Coast residents bring their lawn chairs out to the street to enjoy the Sleepy Hollow Rod Run, which features hundreds of vintage cars, and Sechelt and Gibsons host several “Show and Shines”.
